Ugh, I hate school... Kelsey thought as she was sitting on the steps that led up to the twin entrance doors of the very place she disliked. Her gaze was aimed high at some random cloud in the grey sky above her. Today wasn't the best day to be outside and the air carried the heavy scent of rain that basically fortold of what was to come. But when it would come, well, that was a little hard to tell. Kelsey wouldn't care if she got a little wet because of it, though. She preferred the rain over the sun's heat any day. It was after school, so it really didn't matter if she were to get wet because she could just go home.

It had been warm for most of the school day but once the final bell of the day had tolled, it seemed as thought the clouds had come out to ruin what was left of the day. Kelsey wasn't too disappointed though because she wouldn't have to walk home in it. She had waited until there were only a few students remaining before she had headed outside of the warmth of school. And she had decided to stay until the rain came since she was wearing somewhat warm clothes; a black jacket that covered the navy long-sleeved shirt underneath and a pair of blue jeans.

Sighing, the eighteen-year old broke her eye contact with the dark cloud and turned her gave down to the cement that was just as gray as the sky was. Then, a sudden gust of wind blew and she pulled the jacket a little tighter around her. It didn't serve as a good barrier, but it kept her from feeling too cold. She then got to her feet and climbed up the few steps that stood between her and the doors of the school. She just stood in the doorway, using the wall to block the wind. She shivered slightly before she leaned against it. She would have liked to have it rain without the wind...

Kelsey lifted her gaze up from the ground as she heard a voice. She didn't look in the direction it had come from, even though she recognized the familiar British accent. But when she had heard the nickname that Leo called her, she did look up at him since he was talking to her. "Hey, Leo." She greeted him with a small smile. Then, as she realized that it was only just him, she arched an eyebrow slightly. She was a bit... slow in the observation category, obviously. "What, no Sammi?" She found it quite weird that he wasn't with Sammi... for once. Normally she would see the two of them together, or at least somewhere near each other. She had no idea that Leo had broken up with Sammi, if she had, she wouldn't have asked why Sammi wasn't there.

"Ah, I see. I guess that explains why she's not around you..." She shrugged her shoulders and decided to drop the subject for the time being after she had heard Leo's question. She raised an eyebrow again as he called Jon, Wolverine. "You know, I actually have no idea where... Wolverine Boy is." She said, and she laughed slightly because she had used the nickname that Leo had given Jon. "He better be home, even though I really don't like leaving him alone with Roxanne." She sighed and shook her head. She hated to admit that she didn't trust Jon around their daughter, especially to Leo. But the only reason that she didn't trust him around the baby was because of her own past with her father. She didn't want Roxanne to experience some of the things that she had gone through, even though she knew that Jon was nothing like her father.

She smiled up at him to show that she was grateful that he was willing to babysit but she raised a brow when she had seen his wink. She knew he was using that irresistible British charm and if she hadn't been with Jon, she might have fallen for it. Well, it was more like she wanted to fall for it. You could say that she sort of... had a crush on the younger boy, and she had since the day he had first arrived in Escapade but she never showed it. Normally she wouldn't even fall for the whole 'British charm,' after all she had lived in England for a few months before she had ever come to Escapade and she had hated it there. "Thanks Leo." It was kind of pathetic that she trusted her fiancé's cousin more than she trusted him. "You know Leo, if you ever had kids, I bet that you would be a great dad." She smiled again, showing that she had meant what she said. Was she flirting with him? Yes. Did she care about the consequences? Not really. Besides, innocent flirting never harmed anyone.

"Cold, hm?" She asked after Leo had huddled closer to her. She figured that he had only done so because of the recent gust of wind. If it had been any other guy, besides Jon, she might have pushed him away, but she had to admit.. she liked the closeness.

She grinned her thanks after she had heard his complement. She had heard a similar statement from Sammi once before but it was nice to be reassured that she would be a good mother. When she heard the familiar rustle of a carton of cigarettes, she looked in the direction of it after it had been pulled out from Leo's pocket. Her eyes widened slightly because she knew that she wanted one. When he offered her one, she smiled up at him.

"Sure," She said and she took the offered cigarette. She hadn't had a cigarette since before she had found out that she was pregnant and that seemed like ages ago. She still carried a lighter around in one of the pockets on her jacket since it was a habit, even though she hadn't smoked in a while. She placed the cig between her lips and she pulled the lighter out, flicked it on and made sure to cover the flame as she lit the cigarette so that the wind wouldn't snuff it out. After the cigarette was lit, Kelsey replaced the lighter in her pocket and she took a long slow drag on the cig before she removed it from her lips. She exhaled after a moment with a sigh, and all of her stress from the past nine months seemed to vanish along with the smoke. Then she looked down at the cigarette in her hand. "Cigarettes... I have missed thee." She said before flicked the end of the cigarette with her thumb of the same hand that was holding it, sending the ashes on the opposite end to the ground.

She then looked up and over at Leo as he spoke again. "Don't you just love the wind?" She asked him sarcastically. When Leo had created rings with his smoke, Kelsey watched in amusement. His smoke rings reminded her of Jon. But Leo's were better than his or at least she thought so. When Leo had moved even closer to her so that both of their bodies were touching, she blinked at looked up at him. She figured that he was probably still cold, so she put her free arm around his waist and smiled at him.

She held her cigarette still as he was using hers to light his. She took a few drags on hers as well so that it was easier for him to get his lit. After he had pulled away and she had seen him wink at her for the second time in the last five minutes, Kelsey arched an eyebrow slightly but she smiled anyways. She laughed and nodded her head absently at his statement about him not smoking around Sammi.

"Yeah, I know. I hate it, too." She laughed to herself and took another drag on her cigarette. She relaxed a bit more as she exhaled the smoke into the air and she brought the cigarette down to her side just as she felt Leo's arm go around her waist. She gave a small smile and turned herself towards him. She smiled again as he kissed her temple, and when he had rested his forehead against hers, she dropped her cigarette onto the cement where it was extinguished. She had never been that close to Leo before and it had taken her a bit by surprise. She didn't really think anything of the Eskimo kiss except for the fact that she liked it. Her eyes widened as she felt his lips on hers but she didn't push him away and her eyes slid closed. She opened them again and was speechless for a moment after he had pulled away. Then finally, she spoke. "Leo... I... Wow..." She said breathlessly. By her reaction, it was obvious to tell that Kelsey had been both surprised by the sudden kiss and that she had actually liked it.

Kelsey gave a small smile as she felt his hand running through her hair and it broaden somewhat after she had heard what he said. When he kissed her again, she brought her now free right hand up to the side of his neck, resting it there, while her left arm remained around his waist. As he deepened the kiss, her fingers began to move slowly against the side of his neck. What the hell are you doing, Kelsey?! You have a fiancé and a daughter! You shouldn't be kissing your fiancé's cousin! Her thoughts screamed at her, but she shut them out as her eyes closed. They were only distracting her away from enjoying the kiss with Leo.

When the door to the school had slammed shut, it sounded quite distant to Kelsey, for she was kind of off in a whole other world. But, nevertheless, it still brought her back to her senses. She knew that someone had to have exited the school and she didn't want to be seen kissing a man that wasn't her fiancé. She dropped both of her arms down to her sides and pulled away from the kiss after another moment. She smiled up at Leo before she looked around him to see who it was that had left the school. Her eyes widened and her smile disappeared as she saw that it was Sammi. "Shit..." She cursed under her breath. She had noticed that Sammi had tears and she slapped her right hand to her forehead. She just felt awful and like a bad friend for kissing her boyfriend. But she may have not felt quite as bad if she had known that the two of them weren't seeing each other anymore.

She removed her hand from her forehead when she had heard Leo’s comment. Kelsey looked up at him and both of her eyes showed him that she was scared. She was afraid that because Sammi had witnessed their little make out session, she would go and tell Jon. Then, she would lose him over it. Though, she didn’t know if he would consider kissing to be cheating.

“Fuck…” She said under her breath and she bit her lower lip when she had heard Jon’s angry tone. First, they had been seen by Sammi and now by her fiancé. Today was going just great, no? When she had heard Leo speak, she looked over at him, one of her eyebrows raised slightly. She didn’t nod to show that what he had said was the truth, since she didn’t want Jon to become angrier, instead, she just turned back towards her fiancé and ran a hand slowly through her hair as she leaned back against the school next to Leo. She had been shaking ever since Jon had first spoken and the school helped her to steady herself.

She took the offered cigarette from Leo so that he could use his right hand as a barrier from the wind. She took her own lighter out from her pocket on her jacket, and using her right hand as a block against the wind, she flicked the lighter on with her left hand and lit the cigarette easily. It had always been easy for her to light one since she had been smoking since she had been fourteen. Kelsey then took a drag on the cigarette and expelled the smoke from her mouth. The cigarette calmed her down somewhat so that she could at least act at a decent normal level. She really didn’t want Jon to get angry with either her or Leo, though she knew that he most likely would. “You’re late…” She said quietly to Jon before she took another drag on her cigarette. Maybe if she had put him on a guilt trip, she wouldn’t feel quite as guilty herself.

Kelsey just listened to the boy’s exchange in silence. She ran her hand through her hair again as she thought of what she was going to do. She didn’t know who or what she wanted at that moment, which was strange. It had only been a little while ago that she had been so sure that she was ready to marry Jon, but now, this whole thing with Leo… it complicated things and she wasn’t quite as sure about more than just the marriage. She glanced down at the ring on her finger and for the first time, she really pondered what the true meaning of it was. If it meant that she loved Jon, then why was she having second thoughts about marrying him? She sighed and was pulled from her thoughts when she had heard Leo’s comment. She looked over at him before she turned her gaze to Jon, a look of confusion on her face.

After she had heard Jon’s reply, she folded her arms, making sure that the lit end of the cigarette was held away from her. She believed him since after all, Leo hadn’t been home to watch their daughter, obviously. “Uh huh… and where is she now?” She knew that Roxanne wasn’t with Jon at that moment but she didn’t know if he had just left her in the car or home alone, so she had to ask. When she had seen him glance over at Sammi and his eyes had widened, she raised an eyebrow slightly. His weird reaction kind of made her wonder what he had been up to and if it had something to do with Sammi. She dismissed this thought for a moment, though. She would bring it up at a better time.

As Leo loosened his arm around her waist, she glanced over at him. Just as she was about to move away, Sammi had approached them. She just stayed where she was instead. She just stared blankly at Sammi as she found out that she wasn’t even with Leo anymore. She had an unusually urge to hit him for breaking up with her. But, then again, she wanted to hit herself for even thinking of kissing him. When Sammi had said that she had caught Leo half screwing some other guy named Damian, Kelsey turned her head to look up at him, one eyebrow raised. She had no idea that he was even remotely close to being gay. She then looked to Jon with the same expression as if she were asking him if he knew about Leo’s bi tendencies. As she was mentioned again in Sammi’s little… rant, she just stared down at the ground. She didn’t really know what she could do at this point.

Kelsey looked up at Jon when he had spoken. She knew that he had been speaking directly to her because he wouldn’t be asking the other two his question. They weren’t the ones with the engagement ring on their left ring finger. She really didn’t want to answer his question. Did she really love him? Now she didn’t know. She never thought that she would so willingly kiss another man back unless it had been Jon. She knew that if she did say she loved Jon, she would probably end up hurting Leo… but then if she said she didn’t, or that she didn’t know, she would hurt Jon and she didn’t want hurt either of them, though it was a bit.. inevitable. Why did life have to be so gosh darn difficult? She was saved from replying when Sammi had slapped Leo across the face.

Then, after Sammi had socked Leo in the nose and had started down the stairs, she backed slowly away from both Leo and Jon. Unfortunately though, she was stopped when her back had hit the wall that made up part of the doorway. She cursed her luck and stayed there in silence. She brought the cigarette that she had almost forgot about up to her lips and took a drag on it to settle her nerves a little. It had worked, too, since she felt calmer after she had exhaled the smoke into the air above her.
